About Arthur Crandon

Arthur Crandon is a British-born author and former lawyer whose lifelong passion for justice, culture, and storytelling has taken him from the courtrooms of London to the heart of Southeast Asia. Now dividing his time between the Philippines and the United States, Arthur draws inspiration from the vibrant people, myths, and legends of the islands he has called home for many years.

Arthur has loved reading and writing since childhood, when he first discovered the power of stories to open new worlds and spark imagination. Alongside his love of literature, he developed a deep interest in politics and public service. His commitment to community led him to serve as a Town Councillor in the United Kingdom — an experience that strengthened his understanding of how laws and people shape each other’s lives.

His fiction often explores the hidden corners of Philippine life — where folklore meets modern reality, and where ordinary people find themselves caught in extraordinary circumstances. His work blends local color and historical myth with universal themes of morality, courage, and survival.

In addition to fiction, Arthur writes thought-provoking non-fiction on law, politics, education, and society. Drawing from decades of experience in the legal world, his writing offers readers both insight and clarity on complex social issues, always grounded in fairness and humanity.

Arthur is happily married to his wife Lynnie, and together they share the joy of raising five children. When he isn’t writing or researching his next story, he can often be found fishing in quiet coves, exploring new places with his family, or playing the piano — another lifelong passion that helps him find peace and inspiration.

Through all his work, Arthur seeks to highlight the beauty, resilience, and humor of the human spirit — especially in the face of life’s contradictions and challenges.
